This [Insert Cranky Word Here] House

We have finally started on our "second" bathroom project. It took us 3 months to finally get the energy to want to begin another project. We tore into the adjacent bedroom and quickly gutted it. When we got to the dreaded wall for the tiny storage room we'd never been in, we started to have doubts. Did we really want to be doing this? We put two bug bombs fit for 5000 cubic feet of space in only 1500 cubic feet. Even though it's winter, we didn't want to come across any lively creatures. We finally broke into the wall and discovered the must disgusting space I've ever gutted. The walls were covered in pink insulation that was falling apart due to the fact that MICE had been coming in and out for years!! There was mouse droppings all over the shelves. They had spent a merry time enjoying this small area. The piece of extra carpet on the ground did not have any evidence of mice, which gave us a breath of relief, as this meant the mice had been here long before us and long before the last homeowners. With masks, Lysol and thick gloves we dug in. We ripped out a window so we didn't have to track the infectious Haunta virus all through our house. Next, Bryan began the sucky task of hammering out concrete. He opened up the area to add in sewer pipe. Now we're at another crossroads. After checking the toilet flange to be connected to the sewer (which God did not answer our hopes that it was connected), we get the wonderful task of cutting out old iron pipe (that has collected 50+ years of sewage) and put in new pipe and add what we need. YEAH!! My most favorite thing to do! :) Bryan's worst fear, raw sewage will blast out at us. So all who read this, think how lucky you are that you are in a newer home or still renting or don't even have your own place to take care of. Our advice? Only ever buy new homes. It saves heartache, money and money and money and money and mone............
